Hachi cotton plain weave navy

This casual slip-on shirt has the shape of a classic vareuse, which literally means shirt blouse, but at the same time means the traditional fisherman's shirt.

In keeping with its origins in the working world, the shirt is simple and functional - with an insert, a slit and a collar that folds down. At SHASTU, we made a couple of more prominent design changes. The button that closes the slit at the neckline, along with a loop, is on the outside; just like the breast pocket. In the past, such a shirt was cut from canvas remnants, which would be unreasonably heavy by today's standards. We found a lovely soft cotton with a rugged look.
